The St. Augustine Beach Civic Association continues its MUSIC BYTHE SEA CONCERTS throughout July. The schedule is:
July 4   Power Play (cool jazz)              dinner by Café 11

Dinners served at 6pm music starts at 7pm. Bring a chair and enjoy the food, music and ocean breezes. Fourth of July Fireworks viewing will take place at 9:30 from the St. Johns County Pier. This is really one of the best viewing spots. Not only can the Matanzas Bay fireworks be seen, but looking south fireworks shows from Marineland and beyond can be viewed. Avoid the congestion and traffic downtown and come on out to the beach for a great dinner, concert and fireworks displays.

            Summer’s here and the beaches couldn’t be better. To add a little color to the A St. beach entrance the Civic Association has completed a small mural. Thanks to volunteers Bill Rosenstock and Rich Smull there is a cheerful 3-D seascape. Thanks to Rich, creator of yard art and vendor at the Farmer’s Arts & Crafts Market, there is a wonderful display of birds, fish and other marine life found at our beaches. Also there is a model of a sea turtle nest to remind beachgoers about protecting our endangered wildlife. This should put a smile on the faces of all passersby. Check it out. The mural complements the public shower that the Civic Association installed in 2005.
            Finally, the Civic Association would like to thank again all of the volunteers and participants who made the Taste of the Beach such a successful fund raiser for the Betty Griffin House.
